In Perfect World International weapons, armor, and accessories can be created by the players. These manufacturing skills or professions are called Apothecary, Blacksmith, Tailor, Craftsman, and Runecrafting.

Upon reaching level 28 these trade skills become available. Simply speak with the Elder of your city and they will assist you.

Apothecary: Able to manufacture all kinds of remedies and charms.

Blacksmith: Able to manufacture all kinds of weapons including blades, swords, axes, hammers, bows, and more.

Craftsman: Able to manufacture all kinds of accessories including necklaces, belts, and rings. This skill is for crafting 'Ornaments'; for creating gems, see Jewel Crafting.

Tailoring: Able to manufacture all kinds of armor and defensive equipment.

Runecrafting: Able to manufacture weapon-enhancing runes. See Runecrafting.

Manufacturing

1. Seek the appropriate NPC (i.e. Blacksmith, Tailor, Apothecary, and Craftsman) in any town. Smaller towns will not have all the manufacturing NPCs.
2. Select Manufacture Equipment or Remedy Manufacturing
3. Depending on the Production Skill level, select the equipment to be manufactured
4. Click Start to begin manufacturing. The start button is enabled if all the necessary materials are present. Otherwise, the start button is disabled.

Increasing the Mastery Level

Manufacturing equipment or restorative powders increase the percentage of learning the next higher mastery level. However, this only works when the current production skill level and the level of equipment or powders are the same.

For example:

1. If the current Production skill level is 3, only by manufacturing level 3 equipment/powders will increase the mastery level 4 percentage.
2. If the current Production skill level is 6, manufacturing level 1-5 equipment/powders will not increase the mastery level 7 percentage.

Decomposing Equipment

Although decomposing gear is not crafting, it is directly related to your crafting skill level. You must have a high enough crafting skill level for the type of equipment's grade level in order to decompose the equipment.

Materials and Herbs

• Lowest Grade = level 1, can be mined or harvested by any level
• Low Grade = level 2, can be mined or harvested from level 20+
• Mid Grade = level 3, can be mined or harvested from level 40+
• High Grade = level 4, can be mined or harvested from level 60+
• Special Grade = level 5, can be mined or harvested from level 80+ (only available in Lothranis and in Momaganon, so technically only level 89+ can harvest/mine special grade materials and herbs).

Note: Level 5 Special Herbs needed for level 5 powders are only available in locations that can be entered by level 89 and above. Level 5 attack / defense charms can be made from Pakua stones obtained from decomposing grade 10 equipment. Making attack charms can increase your mastery level, but making defense charms cannot.

1. Upon reaching player level 80 with level 5 Apothecary skill, a system message appears to talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
2. Talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
3. Talk to Herb Gardener aka Huajen (618 389) @ Dreamweaver Outskirts (watch out for high level mobs near him)
4. Buy the Advanced Apothecary skill book from him for 157,500 coins
5. If necessary, manufacture level 5 powders / charms until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
6. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
7. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 6 Apothecary

Level 7 Note: Ordinary Apothecary NPCs only have recipes up to level 5. Level 6 powders can only be made from a few officers. These officers are usable only by members of the TW (Territory War) faction that holds that land. If your faction does not have access to these officers apothecary 6 can only be leveled by making attack / defense charms out of Chiukung stones obtained from decomposing grade 11 equipment.

1. Manufacture level 6 powders / charms until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
2. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
3. Pay the required coins ($200,000) and spirit (100,000) to learn level 7 Apothecary

Level 8

Requisite Level: 99

1. Manufacture level 7 attack/defense charms (made from Perfect Stones) until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
2. Obtain an Expert Apothecary Book (a rare drop from mobs in Seat of Torment and Abaddon)
3. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
4. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 8 Apothecary

Level 90 Apothecary Items

There are seven apothecary items that are not made from normal apothecary NPCs. They require level 6 Apothecary to make and can only be made if you own a specific territory.
