Dragonbreath Quest Chain

The Dragonbreath Quest Chain is a series of Legend Quests available to players that have reawakened twice, are level 100+, and own a Homestead. The quest chain awards 5 Dragonbreath Fragments, which are used to create first cast Dragonbreath Weapons. You do not need to do these quests to craft a weapon, however it does make it easier as you are provided with half of the materials required through the quests.

The quest chain begins at Vyn Yen, the Warrior in west Archosaur (522 657). The quests cannot be found in the Quests window under the Find Quest tab.

Tips

• You will not get any Experience or Spirit from these quests.
• During the quest chain you will need to find Jan Holfen and Shon Saiven, who are found in different locations every day for each server. Their locations are not listed on this article. There is a Homestead NPC Locator tool that can be used to find the locations of these NPCs.
• This quest chain is technically split into two parts, where the player will have to wait 11 hours to receive the second part.
• You will need to do at least one Homestead Collection Quest to begin this quest chain.
• The Dragonbreath Guardians that must be killed during these quests can only be fought by the player who is doing the quests; you cannot receive help to kill them but you can have other players heal you.

1. Collect 2 Sigils of Nightbloom. You can get these by doing Homestead Collection Quests in your Homestead. The lowest level Collection Quest (Mulberry) will give 2 Sigils of Nightbloom.
2. Give the Sigils to Vyn Yen, the Warrior in West Archosaur (522 657).

1. Talk to Vyn Yen, the Warrior again. He will tell you the history of Elysium before it was repurposed for Homesteads.

1. Talk to Zur Arzo, the Singer in the north district of Etherblade City (442 904).

Zur Arzo's Headache

1. Talk to Jan Holfen. This NPC is found in random locations each day. You can find their location using the Homestead NPC Locator tool.
   • If the tool is not working for some reason, Jan Holfen will either be wandering in Dawnglory (757, 866 ↑24), Plain of Farewells (247, 776 ↑23), or The Fissure (133, 277 ↑13). Stay in the same spot and a NPC should eventually walk by. If it is not Jan Holfen, then they are in a different area.
   • If Jan Holfen walks too far away while talking to them you will get a "Service Unavailable" error. Try talking to them before they walk away from you to prevent this.
2. Kill Zur Arzo's Inner Darkness found north of Dragon Tower in the Primal World (326, 539 ↑36). It is a level 150 monster with 23k health.
3. Talk to Gu Shozi north of Dragon Tower (327 536) or in Tree Raccoon Village (354 563) in the Primal World.
4. Talk to Apothecary Chiao in the Camp of the Fallen Phoenix in Momaganon (481 622). Note that you will not receive an item - this is normal.
5. Talk to Zur Arzo, the Singer in the north district of Etherblade City (442 904).

Zur Arzo's Fragment

1. You will receive a treasure map. The map can be viewed from the Quest Log by opening it with the Q key, clicking on the quest, and then clicking on the green "Show Treasure Map" text.
2. Search for the area using the clues from the treasure map. The area can be found around the Haunted Path (512 981), northeast of Timberfield.
3. Once you have found the correct spot, you will receive a popup. Confirm it to continue.
4. A Dragonbreath Fragment will appear on the ground. After digging it a Dragonbreath Guardian will spawn and attack the player.
5. Kill the Dragonbreath Guardian. It is level 150 with 164k health. It is possible to kill solo however undergeared players may require healing from other players.
   • You cannot receive help to kill the guardian, however other players can heal you.
   • If you die or the guardian disappears before being able to kill it, you will need to trash the quest and start over.
6. Talk to Vyn Yen, the Warrior in West Archosaur (522 657).

1. Talk to Shon Saiven. This NPC is found in random locations each day. You can find their location using the Homestead NPC Locator tool.
   • If the tool is not working for some reason, Shon Saiven can possibly be found by using a Mysterious Echo. You can obtain one from the Merchant NPCs (not to be confused with Merchants which sell jades and shards) for free - these NPCs can be found in random towns and villages. You can also buy more from the same NPC.
   • When using the Mysterious Echo, it will state the location of one of the Homestead NPCs in normal chat. It is not guaranteed to give Shon Saiven's location.
2. Talk to Vyn Yen, the Warrior in West Archosaur (522 657). Select the second option "She said: Clouds, desolation, calamity, and the sea" to continue the quest.

Upon completing this quest, you will need to wait a total of 11 hours, 6 minutes, and 40 seconds to receive the next part. There is no timer to show how long you need to wait. It is not known whether you need to be logged on for the entire duration or not.

Once you have waited for long enough, you will automatically receive the next quest while on the Midlands main map via a popup quest.

Return to Vyn Yen

This quest is received automatically after waiting 11 hours, 6 minutes, and 40 seconds after completing The Clue in the Book.

Shon Saiven's Fragment

1. You will receive a treasure map. The map can be viewed from the Quest Log by opening it with the Q key, clicking on the quest, and then clicking on the green "Show Treasure Map" text.
2. Search for the area using the clues from the treasure map. The area can be found around Northern Desolace on Shattered Cloud Island (558 160).
3. Once you have found the correct spot, you will receive a popup. Confirm it to continue.
4. A Dragonbreath Fragment will appear on the ground. After digging it a Dragonbreath Guardian will spawn and attack the player.
5. Kill the Dragonbreath Guardian. It is level 150 with 164k health. It is possible to kill solo however undergeared players may require healing from other players.
   • You cannot receive help to kill the guardian, however other players can heal you.
   • If you die or the guardian disappears before being able to kill it, you will need to trash the quest and start over.

1. Talk to Soul Seeker Wor Zesin at the Spire of Awakening (149 245 ↑21).

The Five Elementalists

1. You will receive a task to kill one of the five Elementalists at random. You will need help to kill any of these bosses as they are level 150 with 17 million health and can deal strong AoE damage. It is recommended to bring someone who can tank the boss along with a healer. If an Elementalist is not at the spawn location, it has already been killed. They respawn after 1 hour.^(verify)
   • Hammer the Metal: Kill the Gilded Metal Elementalist at Forest of Haze (690 493).
   • Split the Wood: Kill the Gigantic Wood Elementalist at Broken Plain (363 894).
   • Drain the Water: Kill the Flooding Water Elementalist at Icespine Pass (470 285).
   • Extinguish the Fire: Kill the Blazing Fire Elementalist at the Land of the Burning Heart (131 782).
   • Shatter the Earth: Kill the Steady Earth Elementalist at the Land of Buried Bones (130 415).
2. Once you have killed the designated Elementalist, talk to Soul Seeker Wor Zesin at the Spire of Awakening (149 245 ↑21).

1. You will receive a treasure map. The map can be viewed from the Quest Log by opening it with the Q key, clicking on the quest, and then clicking on the green "Show Treasure Map" text.
2. Search for the area using the clues from the treasure map. The area can be found north of the Village of Brutes at Vibrant Cliffs, around (215 465) or (221 467). If your spot is located on top of a rock, you may need to trash the quest and start over as the Dragonbreath Fragment may not appear.
3. Once you have found the correct spot, you will receive a popup. Confirm it to continue.
4. A Dragonbreath Fragment will appear on the ground. After digging it a Dragonbreath Guardian will spawn and attack the player.
5. Kill the Dragonbreath Guardian. It is level 150 with 164k health. It is possible to kill solo however undergeared players may require healing from other players.
   • You cannot receive help to kill the guardian, however other players can heal you.
   • If you die or the guardian disappears before being able to kill it, you will need to trash the quest and start over.

1. Talk to Nightbloom at the White Lotus Residence in Lothranis (342 593).

Proving Your Worth

1. Kill the Hellfire Abomination in the Seat of Torment. He can be found in the Nightmare Gate part of the dungeon. You will most likely need help to kill this boss.
   • The Hellfire Abomination is a level 150 boss with 11.7 million health. He is initially immune to elemental and physical damage but these immunities can be removed by killing the towers around Nightmare Gate.
   • He will be debuffed with a damage increase debuff, allowing players to deal more damage to him. He will do a variety of attacks, including slowing players, freezing players, and reducing their physical attack speed, channelling speed, and earth resistance. He will also constantly attack with a physical AoE which can be fatal to even decently geared players - it is recommended to stand back far away from the boss to avoid his AoEs.
   • On occasion an on-screen message will appear stating that an Energy Star has appeared. A green ball will randomly move around the area. A few moments later a Minotaur Demon will appear which cannot be easily killed. Kill the green star floating around and it will spawn a green circle on the ground. Lure the Minotaur to this circle and it will be disabled and eventually killed.
2. Talk to Nightbloom at the White Lotus Residence in Lothranis (342 593).

Nightbloom's Fragment

1. You will receive a treasure map. The map can be viewed from the Quest Log by opening it with the Q key, clicking on the quest, and then clicking on the green "Show Treasure Map" text.
2. Search for the area using the clues from the treasure map. The area can be found northwest of the City of a Thousand Streams (97 875).
3. Once you have found the correct spot, you will receive a popup. Confirm it to continue.
4. A Dragonbreath Fragment will appear on the ground. After digging it a Dragonbreath Guardian will spawn and attack the player.
5. Kill the Dragonbreath Guardian. It is level 150 with 164k health. It is possible to kill solo however undergeared players may require healing from other players.
   • You cannot receive help to kill the guardian, however other players can heal you.
   • If you die or the guardian disappears before being able to kill it, you will need to trash the quest and start over.
6. Talk to Vyn Yen, the Warrior in West Archosaur (522 657).

1. Talk to Vyn Yen, the Warrior again. He will mention the materials required for creating Dragonbreath Weapons. He will also mention some of the places where these materials can be found - through the Homestead, and in Uncharted Paradise. These are just some of the methods to acquiring these materials; other materials can be found in Dawnlight Halls, as well as the Mysterious Merchant which appears in Uncharted Paradise and Dawnlight Halls.

This is the end of the quest chain. You will now have 5 of the 10 Dragonbreath Fragments required to craft your first Dragonbreath Weapon.
