East Coast Emergency is a series of classic quests found around the Allies Camp and Angler's Village areas. Most quests are available to players that are level 35+, while the rest are available at level 36+. The quests are listed in the Area section of the Perfect World Anecdote, and will award players with 1 Insight Point for completion. Completing this quest chain will award players with two level 34 Duke rings of their choice.
Players can be introduced to this series of quests after completing the level 34+ Nameless Isle Crisis series of quests, but do not need to complete them to start the East Coast Emergency quests.
Tips[ | ]
- Between levels 38-43, there are several side quests around the Allies Camp area that the player can pick up for extra rewards.
- Most quests require you to do them in order of the list in the Perfect World Anecdote.
- Once you reach Angler's Village, you can pick up multiple quests at once to save time.
- There are two quests in this quest series, "Seal the Dismal Shade" and "The Showdown", which require bosses to be killed. You may need help to kill these bosses.

Seal the Dismal Shade[ | ]
This quest has a 2-hour time limit. If the player does not complete the quest in time it will fail, and they will have to start over.
Quest Dispatcher: Soldier Feng, Angler's Village (637, 831)
- Kill Dismal Shade in the Secret Passage, southwest of Orchid Temple. When entering the dungeon, go north into the first room and turn left to find the boss. You may need help to kill Dismal Shade.
- Dismal Shade is a level 45 boss with 181k health. It is surrounded by four Skelevizen Warlocks in the same room which will protect Dismal Shade.
- Dismal Shade will use a poison Damage-over-Time (DoT) effect on all players in range of the boss, including flying players. The debuff can stack multiple times, but can also be purified. You can also avoid the debuffs by fighting Dismal Shade up close, though it will hit harder on arcane armored characters. It will also increase its physical attack towards the end of the fight and drain mana.
- Once you have killed Dismal Shade, leave the area quickly as it will instantly respawn.
- Leave the Secret Passage and talk to Soldier Feng in Angler's Village (637, 831).

The Showdown[ | ]
Quest Dispatcher: Soldier Feng, Angler's Village (637, 831)
- Kill Ch'in, Mausoleum Watchman, found wandering along the north and northeastern edge of Shattered Jade Shore, for the Will of Ch'in. You may need help to kill Ch'in.
- Ch'in is a level 45 boss with 181k health. He has three Boniron Valiant followers that protect him.
- Ch'in deals both physical and magic damage. He will also use a physical AoE attack on occasion which can be deadly to arcane armored characters.
- Once you have killed Ch'in, leave the area quickly as he will instantly respawn.
- Give the Will of Ch'in to Soldier Feng in Angler's Village (637, 831).
