The Master and Apprentice System is a system where more experienced players can help less-experienced players progress through the game and be rewarded for it. The interface can be accessed from the Public Relations menu at the bottom-right corner of the window.

Requirements[ | ]

By default, all players start out as Apprentices. There are certain requirements for becoming a Master:

  • If a player is lower than Reawakening II Level 100 and Mirage Sky X, they can only be an Apprentice
  • If a player is higher than Reawakening II Level 100 and Mirage Sky X, they can choose to be an Apprentice or a Master
  • If a player is higher than Reawakening II Level 105 and Astral Sky I, they will not benefit from being an Apprentice; it is heavily recommended to graduate or become a Master
  • If an Apprentice has completed the Graduation quests, they will become a Master and can no longer be an Apprentice
  • If a Master has already recruited an Apprentice, they can no longer be an Apprentice
  • A player can only be a Master or an Apprentice; they cannot be both at the same time

Changing Statuses[ | ]

To change from Apprentice to Master freely you can open the Master and Apprentice interface and click the "Switch M/A Status" button. If the button is not there then you are not eligible to swap statuses.

Upon clicking the "Switch M/A Status" button you will see your current status and a list of requirements that you should meet before switching status:

  • Players who have an active Acknowledge Master or Accept Apprentice posting cannot switch status
  • After the status change, one can not switch again in the next 7 days
  • Players who have already graduated can not become an Apprentice again
  • A player who has already accepted an Apprentice cannot become an Apprentice again themselves.

Finding a Master or Apprentice[ | ]

MA Listing

A list of Apprentices looking for Masters.

There are two different methods for finding a Master or an Apprentice:

Face-to-Face[ | ]

Players can send requests to one another without using the Master and Apprentice interface, either by right-clicking their player avatar or right-clicking their name in chat, and then clicking the Accept an Apprentice/Acknowledge a Master button. This will send a request to the other player outside of the Master and Apprentice interface which they can then accept or decline.

Listing[ | ]

To find a Master or recruit an Apprentice, players can enter the Master/Apprentice menu from the Public Relations section at the bottom-right of the screen. If you do not already have a Master or an Apprentice you will see a listing of all Masters looking for Apprentices and all Apprentices looking for Masters. You can click the Apprentice and the Master buttons at the top-right of the window to swap between the two different listings. You can then select a player and click on the button at the bottom of the window that says "Request to Accept an Apprentice" or "Master" to send a request. If the button is not clickable then you may be in the wrong listing. The Master or Apprentice will then receive a request that they can find by clicking the "Master Request" or "Apprentice Request" button, and from there can accept or decline the request.

You can also make a posting yourself so that other players may send requests. To do this, click on the "New Request" button. If the button is not clickable then you may be in the wrong listing. From here you can put in a slogan that has a 20-character limit but is optional. Once you have chosen a slogan you can click the Send Application button and you will then appear in the listings. Your listing will appear for 7 days and cannot be removed or edited. During this time you will not be able to switch statuses either.

Masters[ | ]

MA Master Window

The Master and Apprentice main window from a Master's perspective.

Masters are players that are above Reawakening II Level 100 and Mirage Sky X. They can take on up to 3 apprentices at once.

Opening the Master and Apprentice interface as a Master will show an interface with your current Apprentices. You will also see your Total Master Virtue and Weekly Master Virtue earned from all of your Apprentices. If you have graduated, you will see your previous Master's name at the top-left of the window. For each Apprentice you will see their name, class, level, and boundary level, and when they were last online.

Below that information you will see the Total Master Virtue you have earned from each Apprentice; this amount is updated weekly at midnight on Mondays based on the Weekly Master Virtue/Tutorship Points the Apprentice has earned, which can be seen below the Total Master Virtue. You will also see the date that you accepted them as an Apprentice, the amount of times they have completed the Master and Apprentice instance with you for the week, and the amount of times you have used a Teaching Stone on them for the day. The Teaching Attempts does not refresh on its own when the next day rolls over; you must relog to see the updated Teaching Attempts.

You can call Apprentices to teleport to your location. You can call each one individually 3 times per day by clicking the "Call" button under their information, but this limit is shared with the Apprentice as well; if the Apprentice calls you to their location then you can only call them 2 more times that day. You can also call all Apprentices 3 times per day by clicking the "Call All" button at the bottom of the window; this limit is not shared with your Apprentices.

You can also choose to mail your Apprentices individually or grouped by clicking the "Mail" or "Group Mail" buttons. You will still need to pay a 500 Silver Coin fee for each mail you send, and you cannot send out coins or items with the Group Mail option. You can also click the "Note" button to start whispering with your Apprentice.

You can also choose to terminate a relationship with an Apprentice or respond to a termination request from this window by clicking the "Termination" button at the bottom of the window.

To see requests for Apprentices wanting to acknowledge you as a Master, click on the "Master" button at the bottom of the window. You can also click on the "Apprentice" button to view a list of Apprentices looking for a Master, or to create a listing of your own.

Apprentices[ | ]

MA Apprentice Window

The Master and Apprentice main window from a Apprentice's perspective.

Apprentices are players that are sometimes below Reawakening II Level 100 and Mirage Sky X. They can only have one Master at a time.

Opening the Master and Apprentice interface as an Apprentice will show an interface with your current Master. You will also see your Total Tutorship Points and Weekly Tutorship Points that you have personally earned. You will see your Master's name and class at the top-left of the window, and below it when they are last online, their level, boundary level, and date that they became your Master. If your Master has any other Apprentices, you will see basic information on them at the top-left of the window, but you cannot interact with them or call them through this window.

You can toggle to show your status as your Master's Apprentice by clicking the "Gear's Master Name" button where your Master's information is. Clicking this button will show "[Master]'s Apprentice" above your name for all to see. You can hide this by clicking the "Gear's Master Name" button again.

Towards the bottom of the window you will see the amount of times you have completed the Master and Apprentice instance for the week, and the amount of times your Master has used a Teaching Stone on you for the day. The Teaching Attempts does not refresh on its own when the next day rolls over; you must relog to see the updated Teaching Attempts.

You can call your Master to teleport to your location up to 3 times per day by clicking the "Call" button at the bottom of the window. This 3 time per day limit is shared with your Master; if you call them to your location then they will only be able to call you individually 2 more times that day. This limitation does not affect your Master's "Call All" function or their "Call" limit with other Apprentices they may have.

You can also choose to mail your Master by clicking the "Mail" button. You will still need to pay a 500 Silver Coin fee when sending a mail in this way. You can also click the "Note" button to start whispering with your Master.

You can also choose to terminate the relationship with your Master or respond to a termination request from this window by clicking the "Termination Relationship" or "Terminate Now" button at the bottom of the window.

Clicking on the "Recruit List" button will display a list of Masters looking for Apprentices. While you have a Master you cannot request to acknowledge another Master or create a listing for yourself.

Tutorship Points and Master Virtue[ | ]

When a Master and their Apprentices complete certain activities, they will be awarded with points. Each Apprentice will individually gain Weekly Tutorship Points, while Masters will gain Weekly Master Virtue based on their Apprentices' Weekly Tutorship Points. Every Monday at midnight server time these Tutorship Points and Master Virtue will be converted into Total Tutorship Points and Master Virtue respectively. A Master's weekly Master Virtue will then be converted into Gratitude Funds at a 10:1 ratio.

Points can be earned through the following activities:

Note that once an Apprentice reaches Reawakening II Level 105 and Twilight Sky I, they will no longer gain Tutorship Points. At this point, it is recommended for the Apprentice to graduate to become a Master.

If a Master and Apprentice relationship is terminated, the Apprentice will lose their Tutorship Points and the Master will not acquire Master Virtue from their ex-Apprentice.

Once Masters and Apprentices reach a certain amount of total points they can receive rewards including titles, exclusive fashion, aerogear, and mounts by completing quests.

Apprentices can get a Student Grand Pack each week once their Master has earned a total of 800 Master Virtue or higher(verify), but will not receive a reward during the first week of being an Apprentice. This Student Grand Pack contains Experience, Spirit, Reputation, Mystical Pills, Nuema Orbs, and items to exchange for Homestead decorations.

Teaching Stone[ | ]

Masters can acquire a Teaching Stone for free from the level 100-105 "Becoming a Master" Growth Goal once they become a Master. If they misplace this stone they can also purchase one from Core Lotus Seed in South Archosaur or in Bamboo Village for 1,050,000 Silver Coins. They can then use this stone to teach each Apprentice once per day, by targeting the Apprentice and right-clicking the Teaching Stone. Both players will meditate, and the Apprentice will earn 20 Tutorship Points. The Apprentice will also receive several buffs including a Health increase, Physical Attack increase, Magic Attack increase, Physical Defense increase, and Magic Defense increase. These buffs last for an hour and are identical to the Spirit of Offense and Spirit of Defense buffs.

Daily Quest[ | ]

Apprentices that are Reawakening I Level 100 and Arcane Sky I or higher can collect a quest each day from Core Lotus Seed in South Archosaur or in Bamboo Village; Masters cannot pick up this quest. The objective of the quest is to kill a boss in a high-level dungeon while in a squad with your Master. Other players can also join the squad. Completing the quest will award the Apprentice with 100 Tutorship Points.

The bosses you can fight are as follows. You only need to kill one of these bosses to complete the daily quest:

Master and Apprentice Instance[ | ]

Masters and their Apprentices can participate in a Master and Apprentice Instance to gain Tutorship Points. The Master can open the instance through the Master and Apprentice Window by clicking the portal button and then clicking the image in the middle of the window. Once the Master has entered the instance, their Apprentices can also enter through the same method. At least one Apprentice needs to enter to start the instance, and multiple Apprentices can enter the instance and participate.

A Master can only open the instance 3 times per week; this limit is shown underneath the image. An Apprentice can only complete the instance 2 times per week.

When the instance is opened, a challenge will be randomly chosen from Spring Brewing, Summer Exterminating, and Autumn Harvest. The players can teleport to the challenge area at the Seasons Teleporter. To begin the challenge, the Master and Apprentice(s) must be in a squad together, with the Master as the squad leader. The Master can then activate the challenge at the nearby NPC. If the Master and Apprentice(s) fail the challenge, the Master can activate it again at the nearby NPC in the challenge area.

Completing the challenge will award each participating Apprentice with 400 Tutorship Points.

Spring Brewing[ | ]

The goal of the Spring Brewing Challenge is to complete orders of wine within a certain time limit. Each order requires certain ingredients and cooking methods which are listed on the order. To make a basic wine, collect Yeast, Fountain Water, and a type of Grain from the NPCs around the area. Kill the Yeast and Fountain Water monsters next to the Grain by melee attacking them and the Grain will turn into a type of wine based on the ingredients used. Some orders may require the wine to be cooked in a furnace or may require additional types of ingredients.

Once you have created the correct wine, deliver it to the Spring Wine Manager who will then check if the wine matches the order. If the wine is correct, the squad will earn a certain amount of points depending on the difficulty of the order.

Summer Exterminating[ | ]

The goal of the Summer Exterminating Challenge is to capture 3 Corrupted Inchworms within a limited amount of time. The inchworms are invincible and will move away from players when they get close, making them difficult to catch. They will move from tall lotus leaves that can cannot be easily accessed. Players will need to stand on top of the pavilion and use Catapults and Tractors on each other to launch them to the lotus leaves or pull them back to the pavilion. Bug Traps need to be set at the lotus leaves so that the inchworm will eventually be caught in one of the traps.

Autumn Harvest[ | ]

The goal of the Autumn Harvest Challenge is to collect 180 wheat from a maze. This challenge is similar to the Pac-Man arcade game. The players will be placed in Power Reapers and must move around the maze and move over the wheat to collect it, while avoiding Tainted Macaques that spawn in the area. There are power-ups throughout the maze which will help the players complete the challenge. The maze needs to be cleared a total of 2 times to collect the required amount of wheat.

Master Virtue Ranking[ | ]

Every week, the Masters with the most Weekly Master Virtue will be displayed on their server's Master Virtue Ranking. This ranking board is refreshed every Monday.

Players can view the Master Virtue Ranking from Core Lotus Seed in South Archosaur or in Bamboo Village. They will be able to see the amount of graduates the Master has had, their Master Virtue Level, and their current Master Virtue. Rankings can be filtered by class.

Graduation Ceremony[ | ]

Apprentices can graduate and become Masters themselves once they have reached Reawakening II Level 100 and Mirage Sky X. Doing so naturally terminates the relationship with your Master without losing any Master Virtue or Tutorship Points.

To start the graduation ceremony, you must form a squad with your Master, with you as the squad leader. You can then begin the quest line at Great Tutor Hou in North-East Bamboo Village (375, 355).

Graduate Records[ | ]

When a Master's Apprentice graduates, they will be added to their Master's Graduate Record. This record can be accessed by clicking the Book button at the top-right of the window. It will show the graduated Apprentice's name, level, class, when they were acknowledged by the Master, when they graduated, and the Tutorship Points they earned. A Master's Apprentices can also view this record to see which Apprentices graduated before them.

Terminating the Relationship[ | ]

MA Termination

A Master choosing to terminate an Apprentice.

The Master or the Apprentice can choose to terminate their relationship. When the Master and Apprentice relationship is terminated, the Master will lose all their Tutorship Points with their Apprentice for the week, and the Apprentice will lose all of their Tutorship Points. If the Master and Apprentice wish to terminate their relationship without losing Tutorship Points, the Apprentice can graduate instead.

When a termination request is sent, the other player will have 3 days to respond to it. They can only accept the request or ignore it; the only way for a request to be declined is if the player who sent the request cancels it. If the termination request is ignored, the relationship will be terminated automatically after 3 days.

When a relationship is terminated, the Master cannot acquire a new Apprentice for 3 days.(verify)
