Resource Wars is a weekly event for factions to participate in, especially those that occupy land from Territory Wars. It is only available when the Territory Map has been fully occupied, including cities. Resource Wars occurs either on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 8pm server time each week, and lasts for up to an hour. The event will not occur on both days under normal circumstances.

The event was originally designed to be more PvP oriented, however with the servers being PvE it is not required to be in PK Mode or to PK other players.

Overview

If Resource Wars occurs, a system message will notify players and qualifying factions will have their names turn orange, which is visible above a player's head. Activating Plunder Mode will also turn a faction's name orange.

On the map accessed by pressing the M key, there will be various icons throughout, with most or all of them being red. A red Enemy Base icon on the map is an enemy's base, meanwhile a red Enemy Camp icon is an enemy's camp. A blue Ally Base icon on the map is your faction's base, and a blue Ally Camp icon is your faction's camp. Carts will spawn from camps and make their way to a base on the same territory.

If the player clicks the Territories button on the map they will instead see a coin stack on top of territories, indicating that those lands have a base and camp at them.

If a base is destroyed, the camp that is in the same territory as the base will also be destroyed. Camps themselves cannot be destroyed, however they do stop spawning carts around 45-50 minutes into the event. It is easy to tell as the camp will suddenly spawn dozens of carts at once, and then it will not spawn any more afterwards.

The goal of Resource Wars is to get as many points as possible through destroying enemy bases and carts which spawn from camps, or through defending your faction's carts as they make their way to the base. Each faction can destroy a maximum of 1 base, and destroy or protect a maximum of 150 carts. After these limits have been reached, faction members will not be able to attack any bases or carts.

Plunder Mode

Plunder Mode is an optional feature for factions that occupy territories, however it is essential for factions without territories that wish to participate. Only members that are Marshal or higher can activate Plunder Mode. It can only be activated in the first 15 minutes at the event, and can be activated at the Resource Manager in the Faction Base. When Plunder Mode is activated, normal restrictions from PK Mode are removed; items will not drop if the player is red-named.

If a faction does not have their Faction Base opened and have no territories they will not be able to activate Plunder Mode and thus cannot participate in Resource Wars.

Territory Limitations

The amount of territories each faction occupies affects the following:

  • The amount of bases and camps that spawn overall in their territories
  • The amount of points awarded for destroying a base
  • The amount of points awarded for destroying a cart

For example, a faction that owns 3 territories will have 2 bases and camps spawn across their territories, meaning that 1 of their owned territories will be empty.

Territories Occupied Number of Bases/Camps Points from Base Points from Cart
1 1 1200 3
3 2 1600 4
6 3 2000 5
10 4 2300 6
15 5 2500 7
21 6 2500 9
30 8 2500 10

The more factions on the map that own territories, the more bases and camps that will spawn. This does result in lower points for destroying bases and carts, however.

Gaining Points

Points can be gained in the following ways:

  • Destroying a base: Each faction can destroy at most 1 base. Doing so will award lots of points.
  • Destroying a cart: Each faction can destroy or protect at most 150 carts. Unlike bases they award a smaller amount of points but they add up.
  • Protecting a cart: Each faction can destroy or protect at most 150 carts. If your faction occupies any territories on the map, there will be friendly base(s) and camp(s) that spawn on your own territories. You cannot attack these, however you can protect them from being killed by other players by using a Runestone of Protection from the Resource Manager in the Faction Base.
  • PKing players from other factions: Players can PK each other for the entire duration of Resource Wars, and successfully killing a player from another faction can award a small amount of points.

If you are in a squad with players from multiple factions, only the squad leader's faction will get credit. Keep note of this when trying to qualify for rewards after the event concludes.

Protecting Carts

To protect a cart, it must be one that is on your faction's territory. Players can purchase Runestones of Protection from the Resource Manager in the Faction Base for 3000 Silver Coins each. To use one, click on a cart and then right-click the Runestone in the inventory to use it. It will make the cart invincible for 10 seconds so that other players cannot kill it, and this timer can stack if other faction members use Runestones. It has a short cooldown. Protecting carts is not typically done nowadays as it is very easy for players to destroy a cart before there is a chance to protect it.

Strategies

Teleporting:

  • Use Faction Signets to help transport members to different bases and camps. Members that are Marshal or higher can do this.
    • Alternatively you can use Squad Signets, however this does require forming squads.
    • Note: When using signets, be careful to not use one while in combat mode or it will not work. It's best to not stand too close to a camp or base before using a signet.

Bases:

  • Aim to destroy a base of a faction with a high amount of territories.
  • Destroy a base at the very beginning of the event so that your faction doesn't miss out on higher points.

Camps:

  • Aim for camps owned by a faction with a high amount of territories.
  • Aim for empty camps. This makes it easier to kill carts. As the event goes on it may be difficult or impossible to find an empty camp, so eventually factions must compete to kill carts.
  • Split members up between multiple camps. Since 150 carts are required, it's important to get as many as possible before every base and camp disappear. Have groups of 2 or more members moving together to set up at different camps.
  • Set up constant AoE skills. Constant AoEs are skills that continue to cast until either the player runs out of Mana or they cancel the skill. Examples of constant AoEs include Barrage of Arrows, Furious Ocean, The Dragon's Breath, and Yataghan Vortex.
    • If setting up a constant AoE is difficult due to competition, duel another player and set up the AoE on them. Do not cancel it even after the duel is over, and you will be able to attack carts with it.
    • If you are an archer using Barrage of Arrows, you must duel another player, and that player must stand exactly where the cart will spawn even after the duel. After the duel is over your attack will continue to channel and you will be able to hit carts using that player as a target.

Base and Camp Locations

Bases and camps will spawn according to the territory that they are in and usually spawn in the same areas. Not every territory will have a base or camp within it, as it depends on which faction occupies the territory and how many other territories that faction occupies.

There is a glitch with certain bases and camps where they may not appear despite having a marker on the map. It is thought that due to uneven terrain they spawn far beneath the map and cannot be accessed.

The locations for each base and camp for each territory are as follows. Note that carts in these territories may have different names.

Rewards

The main reward for Resource Wars comes in the form of Soldiers' Pay, which can be used at the Resource Manager inside of the Faction Base. They can be exchanged for rewards such as Nuema orbs, sealed flyers, Inkdragon's Blood, and more. The amount of Soldiers' Pay awarded each week comes from a pool that is split between each faction depending on their performance, similar to Nation Wars and Supply Tokens, however the total prize pool is unknown.

The Soldiers' Pay arrives in each qualifying member's mailbox after 9pm server time when the event has concluded, regardless of whether there are still bases or camps present on the map or not. Members that are Executors or higher should not be promoted or demoted before they receive their reward as this can affect their payout.

Only faction members who have met the requirements will receive Soldiers' Pay. In order to meet the requirements they must be in range when a base or cart is destroyed; they do not need to attack them. Alternatively they can kill another player in PK Mode if a base or cart is not available. Players can check their requirements by looking at the map by pressing the M key and clicking the Territories button. The information will be displayed at the top-left of the map.

The amount of Soldiers' Pay awarded to members is the same regardless of their individual performance, however those who are Executors or higher will receive extra Soldiers' Pay. The amount of extra rewards each faction position gets is as follows:

  • Commissioner: standard reward
  • Executor: 1.3x standard reward
  • Marshal: 1.6x standard reward
  • Director: 1.8x standard reward
  • Leader: 2x standard reward

Reward Exchange

As well as using the Soldiers' Pay Exchange option from the Resource Manager in the Faction Base, the player can also exchange their Soldiers' Pay via quest at the same NPC for the following items:
